Dragonflies and Messages from Beyond

Before we step into March, which is packed with support programs, survivorship workshops, and event planning, I took the opportunity to visit friends, enjoy family time and work remotely from sunny Florida. It provided a chance to recharge and refocus, ensuring I bring renewed energy to all that lies ahead for EMWA.
Even on vacation, I found that supporting others is never far from my thoughts. While visiting Epcot a simple exchange with a woman about my dragonfly earrings turned into something far more meaningful.
She gently rolled up her sleeve, revealing a tattoo of a dragonfly on her forearm. With a soft tremor in her voice, she shared that her dear friend had recently passed away. We embraced and tears flowed. Before she let go, she told me she had asked for a sign—something to reassure her that her friend was still with her, still watching over her. And then, she saw me.
In that moment, the weight of her grief, the presence of her love, and the undeniable magic of connection filled the space between us. We stood there, strangers brought together by something far greater than coincidence, sharing tears, sharing a hug, and then parting ways—hearts a little lighter, spirits a little stronger.
It reminded me that, no matter where we are, these moments of connection and support always find a way. We are never truly alone, and our work at EMWA is driven by that belief.
