Bridging the Gap in Cancer Survivorship Services
As summer officially begins, let's embrace the rich experiences it brings, from picnics and festive outdoor gatherings to peaceful nights under the stars, all enriching our lives. Highlighting the month is our Canines Against Cancer Fundraiser on June 28th, from 5-9 PM at the Morgan Road Pavilion.
I like to think of June as a time of renewal, but for those undergoing cancer treatments, summer involves more than planning leisure activities like beach outings or hikes; their calendars are filled with medical appointments, surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. I know this firsthand which is why Each Moment We’re Alive (EMWA), has always been committed to making a difference in the lives of those who need it the most and with your help we can continue to do that. Today, I want to share a heartfelt message about a deeply personal and vital aspect of our mission: addressing the unmet needs in cancer survivorship services.
Cancer is a journey that doesn't end with remission. Survivors often face a myriad of challenges, from physical rehabilitation to emotional and psychological support. Unfortunately, the resources available for these brave individuals are often limited and fragmented. This is where EMWA steps in. Our dedicated team work tirelessly to create comprehensive, accessible, and compassionate survivorship programs that provide holistic care and support. We believe that every survivor deserves to live a life full of hope, health, and happiness.
Your generosity plays a crucial role in our efforts. Every donation, big or small, directly impacts our ability to develop and sustain these life-changing services. EMWA has supported over 500 survivors to date and is reaching full capacity in our groups. With 15-20 survivors on weekly zoom calls, and a waiting list for our survivorship program, The Need it here! Canines Against Cancer is our biggest fundraiser and with your support, we will continue to offer our services that help survivors reclaim their lives. Together, we can ensure that no one faces the aftermath of cancer alone. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us and for making a difference in the lives of so many
With gratitude and hope,
Cindy
